Hayfield racks up All-Liberty honors after finishing as regular season champs

Hayfield senior guard Langston Gaither has been named the Liberty District Player of the Year following a regular season where he led the Hawks to an 18-4 record and averaged more than 24 points per game.

Junior guard Brian Cobbs, the Hawks second-leading scorer, was also named first-team all-district. 

Coach Carlos Poindexter earned Coach of the Year honors as the the Hawks lost only two district games en route to winning the Liberty regular season title.

Hayfield senior forward Carrington Brox was named to the Liberty’s All-Defense team, and also picked up honorable mention all-district honors. 

Hayfield hosts McLean at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in the first round of the Liberty District tournament.
